My mom is the bomb!

Holy Moly! Totally meant to post this a while back but completely forgot. Right after Christmas, Mom & I packed up her sewing machine & some furniture and drove from Savannah up to Brooklyn. She helped me reupholster 2 dining chairs that now are looking mighty fine, if I do say so myself.

Chair #1 - $20 off Craigslist (plus a cute little step/stool - more of that later) BEFORE:

See how the seat was totally caved in?

Whoah Nelly! Look what we discovered had been hiding under the hideous blue/gold shiny fabric:

Everything is better with hot tea & an organic vegan muffin (with old-fashioned dairy butter of course).

Chair #2 - came from my family's shared storage space in Jacksonville. BEFORE:

Mom cutting the batting (cushion) to add to the tired old frumpy chair seats.

Me removing the old staples. A screw driver works great as a staple remover by the way!

The best thing about working for an Interior Design Magazine was the FREE TABLE! I've had this beautiful floral fabric for over a year -used it as a table cloth this summer, but was so excited to finally find the perfect permanent home for it.  Here Mom is laying out the seats to measure how much we will need. I think I'm going to make a pillow with the extra, but we'll see.

Luckily I have a perfectionist for a mother so she reworked the corners until they were absolutely perfect.

Viola! Chair #1, much better!

Chair #2: (sorry, took this picture tonight so the color is off from the rest, but you totally get the idea!)

Hooray!!
