Natalie Baxter

My friend Natalie is so incredibly creative & talented. She's living out west and created this beautiful series of photos of her friends midair. There is something so joyful and satisfying seeing them all as a series.

Persimmons

Art directing a photoshoot about Persimmons on Friday, which is exciting because before now, I never considered the Persimmon. And who knew wikipedia could be the source of something so lovely? You know I love a good vintage botanical print:

Empty Bottle Inspiration

The past few months I've found myself collecting clear bottles, not sure what for, I just find them beautiful. I saw these 2 images on other blogs this morning, love the ideas of covering a table with them and filling with the same white flower for a party, or putting in front of a big mirror.

Romantic Red Hook

Found myself biking around Brooklyn today and ended up in Red Hook, that seriously off-the-beaten path neighborhood southwest of Carroll Gardens but filled with romantic, rustic beauty. I only went into Saipua for some soap (pics to come later), and Botanica for a lovely refreshing cocktail (the "Hemmingway"), but otherwise just wandered around on foot and took some snaps.

Breakfast

I've had two revelations lately that are changing my life in a good way. The first is a combination of my renewed love for a poached egg and my newfound ability to make one. The second is that I recently purchased several beautiful vintage handkerchiefs from the Brooklyn Flea and have been tying them around my drinks as a make-shift-coozie-turned-cute! Oh and also my home-made Iced Coffee - but that's for next time :)

Sweet Friday

The people have spoken. They want more blog posts. And when I say people, I mean my parents. Considering my Dad is my most loyal fan (he never missed a single soccer game of mine, no matter the drive) this one is for him:

I started a new job this week and learning the ins and outs of a new magazine is pretty exhausting. Thus, I came home tonight, took a cold shower, opened a cold summer beer, plopped my fanny on the couch, turned the fan onto full blast, & started a new Steinbeck book, Sweet Thursday. *heaven*

Bike Cupholder

I'm back! After a crazy couple of spring weeks filled with outside picnics & festivities, I'm back to blogging. My sister just shared this photo on googlereader.. I think I need to invest in a bike cup-holder as well. Happy spring!
